I've been foraying into the realm of digital painting and naturally have chosen horses as a favourite subject. This little foal is painted from a photo I took of a Hanoverian mare and her filly galloping in their paddock. I haven't yet painted the mare but plan to do works in various media of both mare and foal together. Such lovely bone structure and muscle definition in a foal...it made it wonderful to capture, a frozen moment in this filly's life. You can find several gift ideas in my Zazzle store with this galloping foal image on it.

This poster of a tiny Sawhet Owl captures a portion of a pen & ink drawing I did several years ago. The whole piece encompasses the tiny owl sitting on a branch, surrounded by trees and branches that softly fade into the background. The style is Pointillism and the subject is created by many untold numbers of dots all created by dipping a stylus into an ink pot then painstakingly dotting it onto the paper. Depth, shading and markings are defined by placing the dots closer together or farther apart and varying the size of the dots by pressure control. I've used this drawing, and a subsequent watercolour I did on several products in my Zazzle store, from prints to tote bags and t-shirts. I just found out this t-shirt sold - to Canadian customer - from my Zazzle site. This design, of a young girl crouching down, hand extended toward a young foal who reaches tentatively forward, is an adaptation of a charcoal drawing I did from a photograph I took one day. This young girl had such fun with this foal, it was a lovely meeting of hands, minds and hearts. I named it "First Love" because the drawing seems to encompass that moment when a young girl discovers her true love: horses!

Well, I'd just recently created this little Dachshund dog cartoon and thought it just might work itself into a Christmas design. So, here goes! This little Doxie wears a red Elf hat complete with pompon and is trailed by a little cloud of red hearts. Pretty cute! The dog is modeled after our little 'niece' Maggie, and adorable Miniature Dachshund. Have you noticed there are so many ways to say and spell Dachshund?
